EXCLUSIVE: TAKE THAT ARE LOYAL TO THE END

TAKE That are experimenting on the follow-up to their humungous Beautiful World album but vow to remain loyal to their pop roots.

Talking for the first time about their studio antics, Jason Orange also hinted the live shows to accompany the record may be their last.

I caught up with one quarter of my favourite manband at 35-year-old Beverley Knight’s charity do where he told me: “We are in the studio and it is going really well.

“Of course it will be pop album – what else could we do? You do get some bands where their egos take over and they come back with a rockier sound but we know what we are good at and we are sticking to it.

“A couple of tracks are a bit experimental.

“If it carries on going as well as it is then we hope to get the album out for Christmas.”

The Beautiful World dates were the best pop shows I have ever seen, but Jason, 38, admitted it took the wind out of their sails.

“After the tour it was weird to go cold turkey but my body did appreciate the rest. I was knackered.

“I booked into a health farm and ended up staying for two months.  

“I think we have one more tour left in us.

“I sound old saying that but I can’t see us being like the Rolling Stones and being in Take That when I am 40 or 50 years old.”

I hope it will not be the last we see of the band, who came back stronger than ever and have inspired other acts like Boyzone and New Kids On The Block to reform.

Jason said the end-of-year births of Gary Barlow, 37, and 36-year-old Mark Owen’s children will not affect the group.
He added: “Music comes first for those guys but don’t tell their wives that.

“We are all taking a part in the song writing but it’s not one of my strengths. I’m not going to lie.”

Pop Superstars Take That will perform at Croke Park next summer, the Irish Daily Mirror can reveal.

The boyband have secretly booked a date at GAA headquarters as part of a huge summer tour.

Gary Barlow and the boys were so impressed with Westlife's sell-out show at the 80,000 capacity stadium earlier this year that they want to follow in their footsteps and conquer Croker.

A source close to the band, whose hits include Shine and Patience, revealed last night. "The lads want to perform one huge Irish concert. There have been offers on the table to do a few nights at the new 02 Arena but they could sell out Croker, no problem. With a new album coming at Christmas Take That are planning their biggest ever year in 2009. They want to be the biggest live pop band out there and they know that playing Croke Park is the ultimate as far as Irish gigs go. They will play a one-off show and tickets are expected to sell out extremely quickly. They want to make this the high point of the tour and are even considering filming the show for a special DVD release."

As well as Dublin, the band also want to stage big stadium shows at Wembley, Cardiff and Hampden Park.

Earlier this month we revealed how Dublin rockers U2 were planning three shows at the venue as part of their tour next year. Earlier this year Celine Dion and Neil Diamond also staged sell-out concerts at the venue.

The source added. "The Croke Park gigs will net Take That a big pay day. They can make up to €1.5 million for just one show. They will announce details of their tour as soon as the album is released at the end of the year."
